Dog Beds & Sofas

If you've ever caught your dog circling the same spot on the couch for the fifth time before finally flopping down, you already know comfort matters to them more than we sometimes give credit for. Dogs aren't picky about décor, but they're surprisingly particular about where and how they sleep.

A good bed does more than look nice in the corner of a living room. Older dogs especially benefit from proper support - thin, flattened cushions don't do much for a 60-pound Labrador with early signs of hip stiffness. That's usually where memory foam beds come in. They hold their shape longer than the standard fluff-filled kind and take pressure off joints, which matters a lot once a dog starts slowing down or has already been through surgery.

Smaller dogs tend to like something different altogether - a raised, sofa-style lounger that feels a bit more like furniture than a dog bed. It's not just about looks. Dogs that like curling into corners or leaning against something while they sleep usually settle faster on a bolster-style edge than a flat mat.

Sizing trips people up more than anything else. A bed that's too small gets ignored, plain and simple. A decent way to get it right is to measure your dog stretched out, nose to tail, and add somewhere around 6 to 12 inches on top of that.

Then there's durability - washable covers, non-slip bottoms, and stitching that can survive a determined chewer. None of that is exciting to shop for, but it's the difference between a bed lasting a year versus lasting through several.

Where you put the bed matters too. Dogs tend to settle better tucked into a quiet corner rather than stuck in the middle of a busy room - it's a den instinct thing, and it shows in how quickly they actually start using a new bed versus ignoring it.

We've put together a range here that covers most of this - different sizes, orthopedic options for older or larger dogs, and a few sofa-style picks for the ones who'd rather lounge than lie flat. Take a look below and find what fits.
